You could call Bryce Edwards, a rising star of 1923 – make that 2023 – a throwback performer, but Bryce more accurately, and magically, stepped through time a hundred years ago. His vaudeville-style act isn’t a put-on, it’s who he is even when he’s not performing. Bryce is steeped in the music, performance and sartorial styles, and even the language of the 1920s and 30s. A consummate musician, he plays vintage guitars, ukuleles, banjos and more. He’s a good looking young man with the kind of big, expressive eyes that would have made him a silent film and early “talkies “star – assuming he wasn’t, of course.

After making an initial splash with childhood friend Quintin Harris in Mr. Harris and Mr. Edwards (reviewed HERE), he lit up the Birdland stages with frequent appearances in Jim Caruso’s Cast Party and The Lineup With Susie Mosher. His debut solo shows at Don’t Tell Mama and Birdland sold out and garnered great reviews in multiple publications, including Theater Pizzazz (HERE and HERE).

This sui generis star makes a return engagement at Birdland Jazz on January 22 with his Frivolity Hour, this time upstairs in the bigger, main room. Don’t miss him!
